Well it relied on trump being in power to take effect. Having a useful idiot in the executive opens a lot of doors. I don’t see how the Republicans could seize power without him, Vance wasn’t ever going to win on his own.
It just takes someone popular. Under Bush jr, Biden’s patriot act was passed and brought the US into the early stages of outright fascism. Under Obama state and corporate power fully combined when people had to start paying corporations for the right to have healthcare or be fined. Under trump this all has only expanded.
